Little Moments is where I reflect on all of the little things that have made me happy, thankful or inspired that week. I hope that I will also inspire you to do the same…
It’s been a bit of funny old week, as both LP and The Hubster have had awful colds. Then on Thursday The Hubster left for a work trip. We also had LP’s 9 month check up at the doctors. What with the usual school, food shopping and so on I feel like I’ve not stopped all week! There have been some lovely moments though – there always are if you look carefully. So it’s good to take some time to reflect on the moments I have been grateful for…
• Quality time.
Little M and I had some lovely quality time together last weekend. We went running (well I ran, he sat in the stroller!) chit chatted and stopped off a play ground. It was nice to spend some time just on our own together.
• Cuddles.
Poor LP has been full of cold the last week. She’s normally exploring all over the place at the moment, but has been unusually clingy and wanted lots of cuddles. Of course, I don’t like her being poorly at all, but do love the cuddles! It’s as if you want to cuddle the illness away! Luckily she seems to be getting better now, but it has been a real stinker of a cold!
• Frisbee.
Our local playground is still closed for renovation, so a few times in the last week, we’ve just headed to the park with a frisbee. We’d had it hanging around for ages and had been meaning to take it out. I wish I’d taken it along sooner – Little M loved it and we had a whale of a time throwing and running together.
• Big brother.
Little M has really made an effort with LP since she’s been poorly. He’s usually fairly good with her, but can sometimes be too boisterous, as big brothers have a tendency to be! Since she’s been poorly though, he’s been offering her toys and comforting her when she gets upset.
• Smiles.
Despite her cold LP has had smiles for anyone she sees when we have been out and about. Poor thing, I’ve had to shuttle her to Little M’s school and back two days this week, even with her cold. I always worry that LP has to fit in with everything else that’s going on, but she’s such a trooper, she takes it all in her stride. And there are always smiles for strangers on the bus!
• Positivity.
After the slump of the election results last week, I’ve been inspired by the positivity of many people around me. There is a new and determined attitude from many people here to BE the change in the world. My friend Diana Toledano has a fab ‘I Have Your Back’ giveaway on her blog for prints, post cards and other prizes featuring her amazing illustrations – all to encourage kindness in the community. She has really inspired me to start thinking about what I can do to make more of a difference too. I’ve begun by reflecting on how I can encourage my children (and myself!) to be grateful.
• The Hubster.
The Hubster is away for work and I’m missing him! I hate it when he has to go away (which is not very often), but it always makes me reflect on how much I love and appreciate him. He can hurry on back now though..!
We’ll be having a quiet weekend, since it’s just me and the kids. We’re hoping to make it to the beach, weather depending. I’ve also promised Little M pizza and a movie night – because, why not?!
What little moments have you had this week? What are you up to at the weekend?
I’m linking this post up with Katy and Sian and their #HappyDaysLinky.

Sorry to hear that LP and your husband have both had awful colds – hope they are both better very soon. Glad to hear that Little M has been so good with his little sister while she’s been unwell. Love how you are focusing on positivity and reflecting on encouraging the children and yourself to be grateful.

Thank you for your kind comment. I’ve definitely not got everything sussed out, but I feel that being positive is the only way really! x
