Little Moments is where I reflect on all of the little things that have made me happy, thankful or inspired that week. I hope that I will also inspire you to do the same…
Well that week flew by! Anyone else feel like Christmas is a distant memory? I really hope we are not back to the weeks whizzing by again, I don’t think I can cope with how fast my two are growing up. Does anyone else feel like that?
As parents you really try to grasp each moment and milestone with both hands. The silly and the sweet, the sad and the happy, the ordinary and the extraordinary, the milestones and the firsts. But however we much we try to hold on to it all, none of it can make time slow down.
So we just need to keep enjoying those little moments and remember that in the end they are all that really matters. I record my little moments here, so one day I can look back and remember them all. I hope I inspire you to do the same.
Anyway, what’s been going on this week?
Little M’s Dinosaur Birthday Party
I still can’t believe I have a 5 year old! Little M’s birthday was over the Christmas holiday, so we had his party at the start of January. We had a small dinosaur party for him and he loved it! I shared 20 Roar-some Dinosaur Party Ideas on the blog – let’s say I got carried away with the dinosaur ideas! They are all very simple though and honestly I think dinosaurs make a fab party theme, because there’s so much you can do very easily.
Time with LP
LP and I have been back to our usual routine this week and it’s been so fun to hang out just the two of us again. I can’t believe how much she has grown and changed since our move. She’s talking so much now, mainly one or two words – often commands now I think about it. ‘Here!’ ‘Sit!’ ‘Come!’ ‘Hand!’ Isn’t it amazing how little people can get their meaning across with only one or two words? I’m also loving her new outdoor hippo suit – isn’t it cute?!
Reading Time
I am still astounded that within a few weeks of starting school, Little M was reading a book! It’s incredible to me. He was clearly ready and has such wonderful teachers. I love curling up together and listening to him read to me. We’ve been making a super effort with reading this week, as his school are running a reading challenge!
Movie Night
Saturday night is movie night in our house. Lately we’ve been trying to stop all that awful multi tasking and just relax – especially on a Saturday evening. Last Saturday we watched The Light Between Oceans, which was very sad and moving – but a fantastic movie.
New Friends
We’ve been living in Cambridge for just over three months now and I’m so happy we’re starting to make some new friends – slowly, but steadily. Little M is really settling into school well – plus I’ve discovered making grown up friends is a little bit easier when you see the same mums at school every day!
Tassimo Machine
The Hubby was given a Tassimo coffee machine for Christmas and it’s amazing! I don’t even drink coffee myself, but you can also make chai and hot chocolate in it. Safe to say I’ve got a bit addicted to making myself a quick hot drink!
This weekend we’ll be mainly pottering about, plus a family outing on Sunday.
What little moments have you had this week? What are you up to over the weekend?
